Smartwatches are essential wearable devices in modern life, and the material used for their screen protectors directly impacts the user experience and device lifespan. Faced with a wide variety of screen protector options on the market, consumers need to consider multiple factors, including durability, light transmittance, tactile feel, and functionality, tailored to their needs.

Common screen protector materials include tempered glass, TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane), and PET (polyethylene terephthalate). Tempered glass is a popular choice due to its high hardness and excellent scratch resistance, typically reaching 9H hardness, effectively resisting scratches from hard objects like keys while maintaining near-original screen transmittance (approximately 99%), making it ideal for users seeking ultimate clarity. However, its drawback is its relatively thick thickness (approximately 0.3-0.5mm), which may affect wireless charging and can easily break if dropped.

TPU soft film, on the other hand, excels at flexibility and impact resistance. At only approximately 0.1mm thick, it adheres tightly to curved screens and resists warping. Its advantage lies in cushioning against drops, but it is prone to scratches after long-term use and has a slightly lower light transmittance (approximately 95%). PET film is inexpensive and has good light transmittance, but it has poor abrasion resistance, making it suitable for short-term transitional use.

Functional needs further refine material selection. For example, anti-blue light film uses a special coating to reduce eye irritation, making it suitable for long-term wear. An oleophobic layer improves touch smoothness and reduces fingerprint residue. Furthermore, some high-end products use composite materials, such as tempered glass + AF coating, to balance hardness and anti-fouling properties.

In summary, if durability and display quality are paramount, tempered glass film is the preferred choice; if a thin, lightweight, and conformable design is preferred, TPU film can be an option; and if budget is limited, PET film can also provide basic protection. Consumers should consider their watch model, usage scenario, and budget, prioritizing officially approved or reputable brands to ensure optimal compatibility.
